Laundry rooms and service

Washing machines and driers are located in the basement of:

• Harvey Court (C & K Blocks)
• Springfield
• C St Mike's (C & F Staircase)
• Tree Court (N Staircase)

Bring your own washing powder. Both parts of College are also served by a competitively-priced professional laundry service, offering a 30% concession for students. This takes about a week. Details about collection deadlines are available from the Housekeepers.

Mail (ICMS/CUSU-MS)

Free delivery of mail between College addresses is possible using CUSU-MS (previously ICMS). There are collection boxes in the main Porters Lodge, at other Colleges' Lodges and at CUSU HQ.

There are also Royal Mail postboxes at Harvey Court Porters' Lodge and the Main Porters' Lodge.

Phones & Phonelines

A payphone is available in Q Staircase, Tree Court. Cardphones are available at D Staircase, Gonville Court, H Staircase, St Michael's Court and Harvey Court JCR. Cards may be obtained from the Kitchen Office.

There is also a new phone in Harvey Court K7 Common Room (ask in the porters lodge for the code to get into K Block) which can be used to make external calls. Users will need to use an NTL card which can be obtained from 5 West Rd Porters Lodge or Old Courts Domestic Bursary.

How to set up your room phone:

1. Connect your phone to the phone line, if you have one.
2. If it works it should make a dial tone and when you press 9 it should ask you for your pin number.
3. If the above does not work, you may need an adapter to connect your phone to the internet network. This addapters are called BT to RJ45, and they are available from the computer office, for a deposit of 5 pounds.
4. If none of the above works you should call ntl. Please also contact me on bnf21.

Once your phone is working you can check your extension number calling 08000136556. Your pin number is neccessary for making calls outside the university network. You can obtain a starter package from the domestic bursary. The package and www.ntlatuni.com will explain you all the details. Please note that you can top up your card with a Solo Debit Card also, although they don’t mention it. If you have any other questions, please contact bnf21, or the Domestic Bursar.
