About 4 Rose Crescent
Known as one of the most picturesque streets in Cambridge, Rose Crescent is only a few seconds away from the main Old Courts site in the centre of town. 4a Rose Crescent is predominantly occupied by second year students, however, the sets are often chosen by third years. Rooms either face onto Rose Crescent or onto the back of Green Street.
Rooms on the first floor have window boxes. Whilst students are not allowed to plant these themselves, the Rose Crescent Shopkeepers’ Association maintain them to a high standard during the Lent and Easter Terms.
Noise can sometimes be a problem since the street is home to Gardies, La Raza and McDonalds. Therefore, rooms are fitted with double glazing which helps shut out the majority of the noise. However, over the last year some of the double glazing units have broken and the College are currently trying to repair them. Consequently, some rooms are noisier than others – visiting rooms and reading the individual room reviews will give more information on this.
Please note – if you are considering choosing a room in the centre of town then be sure to find out about noise levels in the room before selecting it. Whilst some rooms have double glazing, others do not and this may influence your choice of room.
